The Web Home of Jonathan Bobel
Hey! Welcome to my online portfolio. Poke around, get to know me and my work. If you need to get in contact click here to do so - for freelance work or just to say hi. I hope you enjoy your stay.
Design + Development
Here are the sites that I've done from top to bottom.
Conception + design + execution.
Full responsive redesign of stack.com, from initial design to development. I mean, we had a back end developer to worry about the nerdy stuff, but I took care of everything else. Very happy with how it turned out. Currently work at STACK and the site is always evolving.
Toast Wine Bar
Responsive site for local restaurant/wine bar Toast Cleveland. Was very excited to do a site for a restaurant, as I am usually quite critical of other restaurant sites I come across. I believe it's a very user-friendly website across multiple devices and viewports. Also their happy hour burgers are awesome.
The Pedal Republik of Cleveland
Website for Cleveland Bike Polo club. I'm not only the designer/developer, but also a member. Have since moved on to just be called "Cleveland Bike Polo" but I liked how this site turned out.
Website for local welding company/bike fabricators in Cleveland, Ohio. Maker of the Marco Bike Polo frame. "Should have bought a Marco!" (inside joke)
Portfolio site for Cleveland Fine Artist/Illustrator Matt Bobel. Yes he's my brother. Yes his work is amazing. Yes it's in Flash (I did this one some time ago).
Front End Development
Sites for which I've done the User Interface Development.
HTML + CSS + JS
Site for global software company Avnet Express. Was the lead front-end developer on this project for Rosetta.
This site works in IE6. Don't believe me? Good luck finding a computer that still runs it. But seriously, it looks pretty good in that browser.
Campaign site for Tom Schmida, who was (at the time) running for state representative. He didn't win, but it's not due to the website. His opponent's site wasn't as awesome.
Sustainable Supply Chain Project
WordPress site for Sustain SCP, a local Cleveland sustainability cooperative.
Ok so here it goes, the elevator pitch: Born in Chicago, raised in Delaware (the state), lived in China for a bit, and for some time now been an adopted son of Cleveland, Ohio. Loved art and computers at an early age so my profession as a User Interface Designer + Developer fits me well. I'm a very outgoing individual, participating in such activities as bike polo, jiu jitsu, hiking & camping. Easy to laugh and always encourage others to do the same.
Contact + Social + Content
A few avenues you can get in touch with/learn some more about me. In addition to the social links, I also publish content from time to time on STACK.com. Click on the pen for that.
